She specializes in diagnostic assessment and evidence-based therapy, with expertise in eating disorders, ADHD/ASD, perinatal mental health, trauma, sex and health psychology for individuals managing chronic medical conditions. She has a unique background with extensive medical knowledge in addition to a Bachelor's in Biology from St. Bonaventure University, and both a Master's and Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from Medaille College/University. Dr. Zapf completed her post-doc at Cornell University CAPS where she worked specializing in eating disorders, health psychology, and trauma. She is also highly involved in her community and serves on multiple boards.

My clinical work includes experience with alcohol, cannabis, opiate, and hallucinogen use disorders, as well as mood and personality disorders including bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. I completed a residency in General Psychiatry and fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Georgia's prestigious medical college, one of the oldest medical schools in the nation. This expert, specialized training has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to understand the unique psychological needs of children, adolescents, and adults.
I am a Board Certified Psychiatrist, and am also a Board Certified Pediatrician (triple-trained in General Pediatrics, General Psych, and Child/Adolescent Psych). I completed pediatrics residency at NYC’s only academic Children’s Hospital in Brooklyn, SUNY Downstate. Additionally, I graduated with a Master of Public Health with an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Health Communications from renowned Stony Brook University’s School of Medicine & their Journalism’s Center for Communicating Science, and graduated medical school with clinical accolades at NY’s oldest osteopathic college, NYIT.

I have 10+ years of experience working at 4 New York City Hospitals on Adult Inpatient Psychiatric, Geriatric, Forensic, Detox, PHP, Palliative Care, Medical, Neurology & COVID-19 Units. Individuals on these units experiencing symptoms such as: depression, anxiety, psychosis, dual diagnosis, addiction to drugs and/or alcohol, mania & complex traumas. I have worked with a diverse patient base including various cultures, ethnicities, races, sexualities, and gender identities. I own a private practice and offer both in person and telehealth sessions in Oswego NY. I teach at SUNY Empire State as well. I have experience working with both behavioral and cognitive mental health and specialize in grief and loss, anxiety, and life changes. I am a mom to 5, have two dogs, and love designing and renovating.
