I’m Alicia Battle, founder of Battle Mental Health, where healing, clarity, and personal transformation meet. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina, my mission is to help individuals step into the fullest expression of who they are, using the mind as an instrument for alignment, growth, and powerful change.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Georgia State University and completed my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University. My specialty areas include Anxiety, Depression, Breakups, Separation/Divorce, Communication, Couples Counseling, Self-Discovery, Executive Counseling, and navigating unexpected life transitions.
Beyond the therapy room, I am deeply committed to leadership and developing others. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is mentoring professionals, teaching the foundations of a strong and ethical practice, and helping them strengthen both their skills and their confidence. In every leadership capacity I hold, my goal is to help people rise, lead with clarity, and step into the strongest version of themselves.
At the core of my work is a simple belief: your mind is your greatest asset. When guided, strengthened, and understood, it becomes the force that helps you reshape your patterns, elevate your resilience, and create a life rooted in intention and emotional freedom.
I show up human first and foremost, I understand life’s complexity and a therapist second. My lived experiences shape the compassion, honesty, and steadiness I bring to each session.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor specializing in Sex Addiction and EMDR (MA, LPC, LCMHC, SATP) and the founder of UniquelyU Counseling. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, attachment, relationship patterns, and life transitions, with a strong focus on the mental and emotional wellbeing of Black boys and men.
Clients describe me as warm, direct, and deeply attentive. I’ll help you explore what’s beneath the surface, build emotional regulation, and strengthen your connection with yourself—all at a pace that feels safe and supportive.
Here, you get to be fully seen and heard as you grow.
You might be the one everyone leans on—the fixer, the helper, the strong one—while quietly feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or alone. Maybe you’re carrying childhood trauma, people‐pleasing, burnout, or grief and wondering why you still don’t feel “okay,” even when you’re doing all the things. Or you and your partner keep getting stuck in the same arguments, feeling more like roommates than teammates, or trying to figure out what to do after a betrayal. I work with adults and couples who are tired of just surviving and are craving more honesty, ease, and real connection in their lives and relationships.
I often use fitness, animal training, or parenting references to help you make sense of things. I enjoy guiding first responders/military/veterans through the "ick" left by critical incidents. I also work with older adolescents and adults, providing support through life transitions, relationship issues (familial/friendship/romantic), anxiety, trauma, fitness/body image concerns, and more! My big floofy dog may sometimes make an appearance! (And in extremely rare cases, my toddler).

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
