Hi, I’m Victoria Potente, LCSW, a trauma-informed therapist with ten years of experience helping adults heal from anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma. I specialize in culturally responsive, evidence-based care. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can find clarity, build resilience, and move toward lasting change.
I am a licensed clinical social worker, clinical supervisor and psychotherapist.
With an undergraduate degree in fine arts, I initially taught pre-school and kindergarten. After receiving my graduate degree in social service, I became the Director of a high school for emotionally challenged girls who were pregnant or parenting. My career has included work at an outpatient counseling center and as a clinician in a geriatric intensive outpatient program. For many years I worked with patients at an inpatient hospital who were diagnosed with mood disorders, addiction issues or who were experiencing psychosis.
I’ve been helping people heal personal trauma and emotional distress for over 25 years.
As a certified trainer in trauma informed care, I use a variety of techniques and tools to teach you how to calm your inner storm. My professional experience is eclectic. My expertise as a therapist is grounded in my ability to work with all types of people and to address their current needs. Clients range from 5 to 85 years old with various cultural experiences and gender identities.
Some of the feedback that I received from clients are:
"You give me a perspective so I don’t get stuck and I realize I don’t have to solve it all at once
"You have forever affected how I look at things in a positive way"
"You changed how I look at things. I know I can do it, so I achieve it. The re-parenting thing gives me a way to understand people and myself."
"You help people be comfortable in their own skin."

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I believe that there comes a time when prioritizing our mental health needs becomes the key to being productive and happy in our day to day lives. Putting ourselves first generally can be a struggle and something that does not come easy, so taking the first step is key. I have had the opportunity to work for the last 20 years as a therapist within a school-based mental health program working with adolescents and teenagers and help them deal with managing anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
