I work with teens and adults who are navigating anxiety, overthinking, relationship stress, and life transitions. Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward.
I provide telehealth sessions that are structured, supportive, and focused on real progress. My goal is to help you better understand your patterns, build practical coping skills, and feel more confident in your decisions and relationships.
My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I work to make therapy feel clear, actionable, and tailored to your specific needs—so you’re not just talking, but actually seeing change.
I am licensed clinical therapist dedicated to supporting children, adolescents and young adults through life's challenges. I specialize in helping clients navigate emotional regulation, behavioral concerns, and transitions from higher level of care. My approach is compassionate, structured and tailored to each client's unique needs. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where growth and healing feel possible.
Welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming. I aim to create a safe, collaborative, and grounded space from the beginning. I meet clients where they are and move at a pace that feels manageable and respectful.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, trauma, addiction, and relationship challenges. I also specialize in complex and developmental trauma.
I support clients in integrating their spiritual and cultural values into therapy when desired and clinically appropriate. I was born in New Orleans and bring a culturally informed perspective shaped by my Latina, Indigenous, Christian, and Sephardic Jewish backgrounds.
I became a therapist because I have a deep commitment to helping people recognize and build their own strengths, especially during periods of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. I understand that seeking support takes courage, and I work to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported throughout the process.
I earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) and PhD from Tulane University, as well as a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Louisiana and Texas, and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Minnesota. I also hold a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), Licensed Prevention Professional (LPP), and Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP).
Hello, my name is Cathryn McHenry and I am a trauma-informed marriage and family therapist. Knowing what you want and knowing how to get it, are two very different things, and some obstacles can seem impossible to conquer on your own. That's when having a trail guide is most valuable. After establishing a core foundation of trust and respect, we can scope out that landscape together and create a plan. When life becomes difficult to navigate, I’m here to walk with you.
Originally from Miami, my master’s in Clinical Psychology was a product of my understanding of how mental health can impact a person or family. These experiences shaped my career, allowing me to provide help to clients navigating difficult obstacles while implementing skills to allow them to live a happy and thriving life. I welcome challenges and don’t scare easily, having been well-versed in trauma work, and I'm here to help clients reach their goals and live better for themselves and the people they love. This world is a world of uncertainty; the only thing that is constant is change. When someone wants to change or embrace the changes they are going through, I am here to help them tackle the changes head-on.
Starting my practice in a community setting, I've worked with children, adolescents, and families across the mental health spectrum. I understand how trauma and abuse can impact a person’s livelihood, and I'm passionate about working with individuals who struggle with anger management, depression, anxiety, trauma, and recovery. I think that therapy should be a relationship based on trust and honesty, because change is hard. It can often bring about unwanted or negative feelings, and it's important that you have someone to support you and help to uplift you throughout the changes you are going through.
