I am Jennifer Ferguson. I knew I wanted to be a therapist when I was 13. After college, I was a teacher on and off-interspersed with staying home with children. While completing my counseling degree from Capella University, I was still able to stay at home with my children. I have worked at a drug rehab center for women, a small private school as their mental health therapist, at a mental health hospital outpatient program, and in private practice, virtually and in-person.
I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist, with a private practice in Marin since 1990. I got my undergraduate degree from Columbia and a masters of science (psychology) from Antioch University.

I am retired from his position as Director of Medi-Cal Services and a clinical supervisor and staff trainer at Through the Looking Glass in Berkeley. I works with children, adolescents, individuals and couples who are experiencing anxiety or depression, low confidence or self-esteem, conflict in relationships, neurodiversity, personality issues, and other mental health issues. I works with alcohol and substance abuse, including dual-diagnosis and individuals working 12 step programs, as well as with individuals who would like to address a substance issue but are not open to 12 step work. I work with trauma, and with problems with attention and emotional regulation.

I received my Masters in Social Welfare and Pupil Personnel Services Credential from UCLA and my undergraduate degree in English Literature at UCSD. I have worked for 15 years in community mental health and in the school setting. I'm a seasoned professional who has walked alongside my clients to make sense of trauma, loss and the impacts of depression and anxiety. Seeing my clients make peace, set boundaries and be able to communicate their needs with themselves and others brings me great joy and satisfaction in my practice.
My expertise is in child and adolescent anxiety reduction, OCD, autism and ADHD. My goal is to provide education to kids and their parents about anxiety and related and co-occurring conditions. I also frequently treat phobias, separation anxiety, emotion regulation issues, school refusal, learning disabilities, trauma, giftedness and 2e.
I am also experienced in helping adults and children navigate issues related to divorce including coparenting, custody planning, divorce navigation from considering separation (discernment) through divorce mediation/proceedings to post judgment. I also have expertise in helping adults navigate post separation abuse, domestic violence and coercive control.
