Hello and welcome! I’m Toni LaZurs, and I’m excited to meet you.
I’m originally from New Orleans and grew up in Southern California. I earned my B.A. in Criminal Justice (with minors in Sociology and Psychology) and later an M.A. in Social Sciences from CSU Fullerton. After teaching and advising students, I discovered my passion for counseling, which led me to earn an M.Ed. in Counseling from Sam Houston State University. I’m now a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Texas.
I’ve spent the past 14 years working with students with learning differences and building my private practice. I primarily support teens and young adults navigating challenges at school, home, or through family changes, and I also coach recent graduates facing career uncertainty.
I’m a mom to twin daughters (age 30) and enjoy spending time with them and my mom, who lives with me. In my free time, I love reading, movies, jazz and hip hop, shopping, and bowling.
I look forward to meeting you!
I rediscovered my passion for psychology and counseling during COVID and returned to school to redirect the course of my life in my 40s. Now, I specialize in helping others navigate major life transitions and learn new relationships with their emotions and mental processes.
I would describe myself as warm, creative, and affirming. I am a somatic-based therapist trained in EMDR and Somatic Experiencing. In 2016, I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas. I have worked with a variety of individuals in hospital and outpatient settings. I see clients between the ages of 13 and 75 and am a LGBTQIQA+ ally.
I’m glad you’re here—I care deeply about helping people improve their emotional and mental well-being by working through past and present challenges. My own journey has shown me the value of therapy in navigating life’s difficulties. I specialize in women’s issues, mental performance, anxiety and depression, adult children of alcoholics, and life transitions. As a Christian and graduate of Denver Seminary, I offer Christian counseling upon request and primarily work with women ages 18–55
