Life can be challenging and I want to help individuals build new skills and gain insight in helping overcome those challenges.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 12 years of experience, I believe prioritizing mental health is essential to creating stability and meaningful change. Reaching out for support takes courage, and I deeply respect that step.
I specialize in lifestyle and resiliency counseling for clients facing high-stakes occupational, legal, and medical challenges. With a 40-year career—including 20 years as a CEO/Government Executive and 20 years in private clinical practice—I understand the unique intersection of high-level leadership and physical health. My credentials include a UMass Medical School post-grad in Integrated Behavioral Health and National Board Certification in Forensic Clinical Counseling (NAFC).
My focus is the 'Stress of Being Sick from Stress.' I help executives resolve the physiological consequences of chronic pressure—specifically the insomnia, hypertension, and cognitive fatigue that often complicate conditions like CVD and Diabetes. My background as a CEO allows me to listen at an elite professional level, while my current work supporting high-consequence military professionals ensures my clinical tools remain refined for both immediate 'stay in the fight' stabilization and broader lifestyle health recovery.
With extensive experience working with adolescents and adults across diverse settings—including hospital inpatient programs, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), county agencies, and private practice—I bring a wealth of knowledge and understanding to my therapeutic approach. My professional journey has provided me with a comprehensive perspective on mental health care and the unique challenges individuals face at different stages of life.
Since life has not given us the instruction manual, I am here to support you with an approach as individualized as you are. I have over three years of experience in clinical in-patient and outpatient settings as a social worker working with children, teens, and adults; a year of experience serving as an adjunct instructor at a university; and seventeen years working with the military community.
I have 16 years experience as a clinical psychologist, with 8 years experience providing tele-mental health services. I earned my PhD in 2010 from the University of Wyoming. I completed pre-doctoral internship in 2010 and post-doctoral residency in 2011 within the Department of Veterans Affairs, with a Trauma/PTSD specialty. I have been fully and independently licensed since 2012, with expertise providing evidence based care for a variety of mental health conditions.
