I have worked with adolescents, adults, and older adults as they work through life's challenges. I am client-centered with a trauma-informed lens, often leaving clients feeling heard, validated, and empowered to continue reaching their goals.
As someone who has worked as a clinician embedded in a law enforcement agency, I am acutely aware of the realities of first responders and the impact the work can have on the individual and their relationships.
I work with individual adults and certain families who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, sad, lonely, sensitive, anxious, or defeated. If you're feeling heavy by everything going on, or feeling frantic, or having conflict in your relationships or are just feeling lost in any way, I would love to see if I can help! I also work with family units going through transition or strain, such as conflict between a parent and their adult child, or supporting parents who are experiencing difficult things with their child or teen.
I have a lot of experience helping people through loss, whether it's a breakup, losing a job, or a loved one - including loss of a pet, which is a specialty of mine. I have special interest in supporting other therapists, and also community organizers and activists who are engaged in social justice work. Many of my clients are trans or NB, and others are gay, lesbian, or queer. Poly and kink affirming.
I offer telehealth services to clients in California, Idaho, Washington, or Virginia.
I am a dual-certified Acute Care Adult and Gerontology and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 15 years of diverse clinical experience. I have cared for patients of all ages in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of environments, developing a strong background in critical care, mental health, and education. I believe in holistic care, treating the whole person rather than just symptoms. My approach combines medication management, psychotherapy, lifestyle modifications, and patient education to provide comprehensive care tailored to each patient.
Hi, I’m Mariam Ali, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #152315). I’m passionate about helping individuals, children, and families build healthier relationships and find peace through life’s challenges.
I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University and a bachelors in Psychology from Rutgers University. I have worked across schools, community organizations, and private practice, supporting clients through anxiety, life transitions, parenting challenges, and relationship concerns.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), I have been granted the invaluable opportunity to assist those seeking understanding and relief from their anxiety, depression, psychosis, and fragile self-regard. With over 20 years of clinical experience, I’ve developed a deep, sincere compassion for each client’s unique journey. My approach centers on empowering individuals toward recovery, self-agency, and holistic well-being.
I believe deeply in the power of connection, healing, and human resilience. I’ve spent over 20 years walking alongside children, adults, and families through some of life’s hardest seasons.
What motivates me the most in this work is how meaningful change and healing can occur when a person feels truly seen, supported, and valued. I’ve witnessed incredible strength in the face of hardship. I’m continually inspired by the courage it takes to show up and do the work. It’s sacred work, and I’m grateful every day to be doing it.
