Hello, I am a dual certified psychiatric mental health and family nurse practitioner with years of experience in the mental health field. Are you feeling overwhelmed by challenging experiences that hold you back from living a fulfilling life? You're not alone. Many of our struggles can significantly impact our daily well-being. Feeling stressed is a natural human emotion that helps us recognize and respond to potential threats. However, when these feelings becomes excessive and interferes with our daily life, it can be debilitating. Using a solution-focused approach, I focus on desired outcomes and meaningful change while offering specialized guidance in lifestyle shifts to help clients navigate life’s complexities.
I'm a Queer, ADHD, Licensed Mental Health Counselor who specializes in Queer and Neurodivergent care.
I primarily work with teens and adults and have experience working with trans and gender diverse clients, including writing surgery support letters. I'm a Polyamory and Kink knowledgeable clinician.
I'm a huge nerd and in addition to my Master's in Mental Health Counseling I have a second Master's in Sexuality and undergraduate degrees in English and Adolescent Sexuality.
My name is Elizabeth (or Liz) and I am looking forward to meeting with you. I was born and raised in New York, growing up in Queens and Long Island and living for several years in the Hudson Valley. I went to college at SUNY New Paltz (upstate New York) and graduate school at Columbia University (New York City). Just like my experiences growing up and living in the city, countryside and suburban towns, I have a lot of experience working with both adults and children ranging from traumatic experiences, to challenging decisions. I have worked in community, inpatient, outpatient and hospital settings.
I'm a licensed clinical social worker with a Master's degree from Columbia University School of Social Work. My work has focused on supporting adults living with serious mental illness across diverse settings—from outpatient therapy and crisis respite to reentry services and multidisciplinary treatment teams. This breadth of experience has taught me that meaningful change happens when people feel respected, heard, and truly understood.
Welcome!
Mental well-being is a top priority because it is the key that opens the door to a happy, healthy, and stable life. Life can be full of unpredictable circumstances and events that leave us feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, stressed, anxious, or depressed. Experiencing one, or all, of these starts to negatively impact critical areas such as sleep, work, self-motivation, personal relationships, or lead us to start engage in unhealthy outlets. It also makes us feel all alone and emotionally trapped. Reaching out for help can initially feel uneasy and it is a difficult task, but be proud of yourself that you are taking that first step! I have over 20 years of clinical experience working with clients aged 13 to 75 with a main focus on working for you, your needs, and how to achieve your goals to live a happy, healthy, and stable life. Specialty areas include anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, Acute and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, relationships, couples/marital counseling, sexual issues, employees of law enforcement agencies, and forensic based testing.
I value connection and trust. While I aim to provide a safe & encouraging space to share your narrative I also provide feedback & remain engaged in conversation throughout session. I ask that you keep an open mind & give yourself the grace & patience we all deserve throughout this journey.
Taking care of our minds is essential to living healthy, fulfilling lives. Together we can decide what a healthy mind means to you. No man is an island, I am here to help. I look forward to meeting you.
